Florida Center for Cybersecurity

Something new this year: a chance to connect with the people and topics that interest you most! Pick your topic and engage in a lively discussion over lunch. Don't see what you're looking for? Grab a table, form your own group, and network with others for dialogue on other timely cyber topics. Planned topics include:

  • Diversity in Cybersecurity
Varied perspectives and skills are needed for a strong cybersecurity workforce. What are the barriers to entry and how do we encourage the diversity that's needed to tackle evolving cyber challenges?

  • Cyber Workforce Development
Experts project a cybersecurity labor shortfall of 1.8 million by 2020. How will we meet that demand? What's missing from the talent development pipeline? Which skills are most needed now and in the future?

  • Cybersecurity Research
Research drives innovation. What are the current and emerging trends? How can we better connect academic and industry researchers to create opportunities for collaboration? What new directions should we pursue?

  • Internet of Things
More than 30 billion devices will be connected by 2020. How do we plan for secure smart homes, cities, and transportation?

  • Cybersecurity Practices and Standards
Cybersecurity impacts everyone. How do we secure our networks across businesses and internationally? What common standards are needed? What should be the role of government? Do we need more or less regulation? And what about the role of industry?
